At the recent 2017 meeting of Pentalpha No.974, senior subscribing Past First Principal, E.Comp Harold Hawkyard, PPrGSN, age 92, was scheduled to give the Address to the Three Principals. Unfortunately E.Comp Hawkyard unexpectedly found himself hospitalised following a mishap at home a few days earlier and was unable to attend the meeting. This did not however stop him taking part in the ceremony. The Almoner, E.Comp , PPrGSN, was able to record him delivering his from his hospital bed and this was subsequently replayed to the newly Installed Principals at the appropriate point in the proceedings via a large iPad, much to the delight and acclamation of all present. As usual E.Comp Hawkyard was word-perfect! The ME was represented by E.Comp Graham Hoyle, PPrGSN, and the meeting was well supported by members of Criterion Chapter of Installed First Principals No.6220 and the Bradford and District Council.
Pentalpha Chapter are now well settled in their new home at Hoyle Court, having relocated from Spring Bank Place in Bradford in early 2016. Although a small chapter they pride themselves on a high standard of ritual and ceremonial work. seeking Exaltation into a friendly and welcoming Holy are particularly welcome.
