West Wales Freemasons Give £150,000 to local charities


 from across West Wales will be sharing £150,000 from the , who are celebrating their 300th anniversary.

More than 30 charities are benefiting, including the MacMillan Nurses, the Llanelli Talking Newspaper and the Carmarthen Youth Project.
The grants range from £600 – £10,000, and will include the announcement of the West Wales nominations for the  and Wales  Awards. These four charities will divide £50,000 between them, but the size of the individual awards will depend on a public vote.
There will also be the announcement of the  of a £56,000 new ambulance to St John Ambulance, which will be handed over at a special service to celebrate the
Tercentenary of Freemasonry at St David’s Cathedral in July.
Stephen Hookey, Head of West Wales Freemasons, said:
Charity has always been at the heart of Freemasonry and I’m delighted that we can celebrate our 300th anniversary by making donations to these outstanding organisations that do so much to help local people.”
